We had just finished up a series of skype calls. I was looking up directions to Akaroa (a town south of here where Aaron and I are headed on our day trip this afternoon) when it started shaking. It caught us off guard and seemed to last a bit longer than normal. I was just wondering whether to move into the doorway when it stopped.
2 seconds later our hotel manager knocked on our door to see if we needed towels. “Did you feel that one?” Aaron asked. “Oh, was that an earthquake? I thought it was the wind” our manager, Charlie, replied.
I wonder how long it will take before I mistake earthquakes for wind.
